How It Works
Structure
All Tracks
Students meet one evening per week beginning in September and ending mid-May.
Worship
Each night is three hours in length. The evening includes a time of worship.Coming to worship as a community is an essential part of our Christian walk. It is also a great way
to take us from our busy day and prepare our hearts to receive what the Lord has to give
in that evening.
Teaching
SOM faculty are passionate about their subjects, skilled in their teaching andeducated in Scripture. They model a variety of experiences for students to glean from and exemplify a solid love for Jesus.
Integration
s.This time of interactive teaching allows students to learn in an experiential
environment that is safe for questions and discussion. Periodically students have what
is called Integration Night. These nights hold flexible agendas and are used for open classroom discussion, Bible overview and small group time.
Location
The School of Ministry is designed to be mobile. It is held in cooperation with churches and minsitries who desire to partner with MI in the training and equipping process. This also provides location flexibility to students. Each year, the location may change
depending on the needs of the congregations and surrounding areas. If you would like to have a School of Ministry at your location, please contact us at 651-765-9756 or

Three Tracks of School of Ministry
Classes focus on developing leadership and ministry skills covering a wide brush stroke of foundational topics that are real and applicable to Kingdom ministry. The schedule includes classes in the areas of Leadership Training, Spiritual Development and Ministry Skills. (More...)
Homework: Students are encouraged to be intentional about sorting through what they are learning. We desire to see the teachings increase knowledge AND transform hearts. For this reason, processing the information with different approaches such as reflection papers, classroom disscussion, Scripture study and prayer is an important part of SOM.
Dr. Paul Cross brings over forty years of accumulated information, combined with his deep passion for teaching Scripture , to this track; taking students on a journey through the Old Testament story. Inductive study skills are introduced for students to learn a method and practice of observing, understanding, and applying Scripture to daily life. (More...)
Old & New Testament Homework: Students are required to read the assigned passages of Scripture each week and turn in the biblical homework as outlined by Dr. Cross. These will be a small Bible paper/project assigned about 4 times per year. Dr. Cross will provide the students with direction on these assignments and their due dates during class.
New Testament Track
Dr. Cross’s first exposure to studying the New Testament came when he was fourteen. A sainted, old Sunday School teacher challenged him to read through the Gospel of Mark and write down any questions or observations he had about the book. He was hooked. In four decades that followed Dr. Cross has developed a passion for the inductive Bible study method and sharing the life lessons learned in those inductive studies of God’s Word. (More...)
