Class Schedule

Scripture
School of Ministry uses the Holy Bible as its textbook. Each year, students are encouraged to practice understanding, receiving and applying Scripture to daily life. One way we approach this is by having SOM Faculty provide Scripture passages related to their topic for students to study in preparation for class.

Subjects
Students receive a broad "brush stroke" of classes that encompass a balanced approach to topics that are foundational in ministry. The curriculum includes classes in leadership, spiritual development, and ministry skills with these classes come oppertunites for experiential learning.

Leadership Skills:

  • Being a Safe Place and a Dangerous People II
  • Leadership
  • Covenant and Kingdom

Spiritual Development:

  • Prophetic Gifts for the Church
  • Offense, Judgment and Humility
  • Authority to Heal

Ministry Skills

  • Prayer
  • Mentoring
  • Team Ministry

Biblical Studies

  • The book of Acts
  • The book of John

 Requirements include…
     1. Meeting regularly with a mentor
     2. Complete and turn in the required homework
     3. Missing no more than four evenings

Homework
Students will be expected to complete pre-class and post-class assignments as assigned. These assignments will be a variety of learning experiences designed to enhance the understanding of the topic. They may include things like… practicing your listening skills with someone outside of the class, sharing your testimony with your local congregation, developing a short teaching, completing tasks in small groups, and more.
